Our InstitutionThe Sabrosa History and Archaeology Association (Associação de História e Arqueologia de Sabrosa ) is a non-profit institution, whose scope or objectives are mainly focused on the elaboration, implementation and consolidation of initiatives of a cultural, pedagogical and scientific nature, especially in the areas of social and human sciences, digital humanities and cultural environment and humanised landscapes, based in the interior of the Portuguese territory, specifically in the municipality of Sabrosa, in the district of Vila Real, in the region of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, a territory rich in traditions, heritage, archaeology, history and culture. The Sabrosa History and Archaeology Association was conceived in the context of its promoters' various concerns with the preservation, appreciation and study of cultural and environmental heritage. For our institution, raising the awareness of the educational community, the local and rural populations and the sustainability of the "Heritage and Culture" issue are extremely relevant. Our association is an open, free and dynamic institution. It naturally seeks to involve all those interested in the areas of culture, heritage, archaeology, the environment and, of course, the so-called "historical legacy". Through our activities, meetings, workshops, courses, projects in the fields of archaeology, cultural environment and history, we essentially seek to promote the study, appreciation and dissemination of rural heritage in Portugal's interior. Through our own projects, European projects and protocols with several institutions we also try to work in network with national and European institutions in order to valorise the rural environment, the rural, historical and archaeological heritage and to dynamise our activities and studies in the fields of digital humanities. |
