Our Mission

The Sabrosa History and Archaeology Association is a non-profit institution, whose scope or objectives are mainly centred on the elaboration, implementation and consolidation of initiatives of a cultural, pedagogical and scientific nature, especially in the areas of social and human sciences (History, Archaeology and Cultural Landscapes), digital humanities and the cultural environment. The institution is based in the interior of the Portuguese territory, specifically in the municipality of Sabrosa, in the district of Vila Real, in the region of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, in the ancient Swede lands of Pannonias, a territory rich in traditions, heritage, history and culture.

The Sabrosa History and Archaeology Association was conceived in the context of its promoters' various concerns with preserving, valuing and studying cultural and environmental heritage. For our institution, raising the awareness of the educational community, the local and rural populations and the sustainability of the "Heritage and Culture" issue are extremely relevant.

Our association is an open, free and dynamic institution. It naturally seeks to involve all those interested in the areas of culture, heritage, archaeology, the environment and, of course, the so-called "historical legacy".
